Today I’m Choosing Nothing

I told myself I’d get a newsletter out this week.

I started one. And it was flowwwwwwwing.
I was feeling it. And myself.

A deep dive into Human Design.
What it is. Why I’m obsessed. How you can read yours for free. My experience doing a two-hour deep dive into mine with Human Design expert (and Chatt Hills local) Alyssa Oliha.
Alllll the good stuff. (It’s going to be incredible… one day).

And then the kids came home from school and life interrupted my flow.
So I had to stop and be mom.
That night I tried to come back to it. And then again the next day. And the next day.

Instead, I spiraled.

Like, fully horizontal.
Laying in my kids bed with my computer on my lap.
Eyes closed.
Brain looping in a thousand directions.

Where is this business going?
What am I even doing?
How will I ever make money from this?
Am I helping anyone?
Why did i think I could create a community?
Am I actually enjoying this?
What is THIS?
Where is time going?

Yeaaaaa… You know the spiral.

I even took a pic after for your enjoyment.

So I stopped trying to push through and closed my eyes and asked myself one very simple question:

If I could do anything for the next month, what would I do? I DNO!

If I could do anything RIGHT NOW, what would I do?

The answer came immediately.

Sleep.
Nothing.
Rest.

So that’s what I’m doing.

Fuck the to-do list.
Fuck productivity.
Human Design can wait. It can all wait.
Tomorrow. Next week. Whenever.

Today, I’m choosing nothing.

.

.

.

And also… something.
The moment I gave myself permission to do nothing something flowed.

Because I’m realizing how deeply sick I am of online everything all the time.
The thinking.
The posting.
The explaining.
The optimizing.

I want real air.
Real bodies.
Real laughter.
No screens.

So I’m hosting a walk.

December 30, from 10–12, in the Serenbe area.

I’m calling it The Play Date (for grown women).
Cute right? I dno it just came to me without much thought.

No agenda. No fixing. No performing.

Just a couple of hours in nature with other women who are deep in the middle of life’s chaos and trying to remember how to breathe again.

If you’re craving crisp air, movement, and being around women who get it, come.

If not, truly – don’t.

I made a simple registration link so I can share the location (once I figure it out), send a reminder, and communicate if anything shifts last minute.

No big agenda. Just space to walk and people to do it with.

And I’ll probably invite you to do something slightly weird for 10–15 minutes of the walk. Just to jolt us out of autopilot. Out of busy. Out of productivity.

For no reason other than to feel and experience something you don’t usually make time for.

Like laying in the dirt and staring at the sky in silence for five minutes.
Or writing a future letter to yourself to read in a year.
Or hugging a tree.
Or staring into someone else’s eyes for two minutes without speaking.
Or laughing until your stomach hurts.

I honestly don’t know yet.

What I do know is this:

Expect fresh air.
Movement.
Beautiful scenery and beautiful people.
Belly laughs.
And something gently outside your norm.

A small break from autopilot.
A little room to play.

I want in on the walk!

📅 Local Events

The local events worth knowing about this month.

Browse or subscribe to the calendar anytime at lifeatplay.co/events. Add your own events if you’re hosting something worth sharing – submit here.

  • No curation from me this week. I don’t have the energy. Check the calendar.

Also, I’m debating the future of this event calendar. It takes real time and money to maintain, and traffic isn’t as high as I expected. If you love it and would genuinely miss it, tell me. If you’d like to sponsor it, tell me.
If crickets, I’ll likely let it go this spring.

And if you’re resting today instead of producing. I see you.
I’m right there too.

Really big hug.
I hope you join me on the trails.
